GLOW Eindhoven

GLOW is a light-art festival taking place on 9 - 16 November
in the Dutch city of Eindhoven.

Artists and designers from home and abroad
 present light-art and design applications
by using new media technologies,
such as computers, sensors, animations,
and also the well-known projection mapping techniques.

Besides the light=art works and numerous
side events there are also
innovative, unique works of art that are created by young talents.

Vena Lumen

"Vena Lumen" stands for pulse light
The design transforms the heartbeat into dancing light, which moves in the bench.

The light illustrates the beauty of two lives colliding
and joining together to become one with each other.

Feel, influence and be part of: Vena Lumen is interactive.
When you take a seat on the couch, the light dances on your heartbeat.
We make you aware of life and the heartbeat that goes with it.

The tunnel of light

The ‘Tunnel of Light’  has been developed by three students
of the Fontys School for Electrical Engineering.

During their minor ‘Be Creative’,
they started building an interactive light installation,
which is now part of GLOWNext.

The result is:
a life-size LED matrix, consisting of about 3,000 LED lights,
which forms the scenery of a three-dimensional experience for the GLOW visitor.

Go ahead, walk through it and take control of the lights.

Co-operate with other visitors
and create great effects together or simply leave it be,
allowing it to create its own spectacle.

The glass side walls enable you to enjoy the project form the outside as well.

Either way, you are in for an extraordinary experience!

Atmorama

Atmorama is a large arena-shaped light installation.

The installation surrounds the visitors with hundreds of recycled fluorescent tubes, driven by their own specially developed technology for this work.

The unorthodox way of controlling ensures that the tubes light up mysteriously wirelessly and without contact.

The control of the light works together with atmospheric sounds,
this creates a magical atmosphere.

The fluorescent tubes that are used are burnt out,
and therefore each give a slightly different color of light.
